I've been bitten by the Bottega Veneta bug. It struck some time ago and the infection started small but has grown to where spending $3K on a dress or handbag doesn't sound as alien as it should be.
There's something about the current aesthetic that embodies the word "aspirational" for me. Anti-logo, super luxurious, announces its presence only to those whose opinion you might actually care about. And so agonizingly expensive.
Lily Bart (House of Mirth) would have had loads of BV. Well, would have wanted loads of it anyway. I feel her right now. I really do.
