Hail Galliano

Um. Wow.

I'm staggered.

The Dior Spring Couture collection is so beautiful I may actually start tearing up a bit.

I promise more real coherent thought and commentary when I have composed myself a bit.

Score: Uluru Cashmere Dresses at Sample Sale

I am late to the sweater dress trend only because I couldn't afford the ones I like at full retail. The cheap ones just hang and fit all wrong. And then, like a voice from heaven, came the announcement of the Uluru sample sale. It's still going on. These are my scores. Stuff looks to be 70-80% of retail.

There are also some Karoo ones on sale at Shopbop but:
A) they are final sale. If they fit wrong, I am stuck

B) they are described as semi-sheer. I don't know what that means but since its final sale I would be taking a chance

C) A good friend tells me that Mark Eisen is a Bad Person
The sale is at 902 Broadway - 20th floor. All dresses are $80-$100 and there are sweaters from $50. Today is Day 2. Go. Now.
I love Uluru. They fit my curves, can you believe it?

No, I won't go there....

I'm not going to comment on the Golden Globe outfits.

Frankly, my primary reason is that I think most outfits were boring. It looked like a giant prom. There were less than a handful who looked adult/sophisticated/truly fashionable. Angie over here was actually one of the better ones. No weird poufs or gold lame.

And in case anyone has noticed, awards ceremonies, or at least pictures of arrivals, happen during the DAY. How wrong do many of dresses look under the bright california sun? Does this bother no one else? Where are the pictures of how these outfits look in action? At dinner? Dancing? In short, how do these party dresses look at an actual party? I don't think we will ever really know.

Meanwhile I will be wearing a boring little navy sheath with chiffon straps to an actual cocktail reception this evening, and I will have fun. A lot more fun that I am sure Angelina had at the GG's and she knew it judging from the look on her face.

Adam Arnold

A label I saw mentioned in the NYTimes Styles store review.
I want this dress so badly.
So very very badly.
I need to go shopping very badly. I have been at a conference all week and it seems all I have done is eat. Shopping is the only thing that will get me back to eating like a normal human being before things begin to not fit.
Loehmann's shoes and I have a date this evening.

Clip it to me

The Thursday style section this week had a slide show on Large Button clip-ons. Again, something that's been gone so long, it's fresh again. I am digging the look even though it's planets away from my own earrings. All fishooks drop earrings. My earrings must move. Posts hurt my ears and clips make them go ow and then uncomfortably numb.

But I still love these.

I know I am going to get a lot of flack about this post as I have been so anti-bling this fall. No jewelry. None. No earrings. I've even layed off the engagement ring (with zero symbolism, thank you). Just anti-bling, taking my usual lack of effort with jewelry a little further.

I make such a bad Indian girl. My mother doesn't know where she went wrong.
